Ericksonian Hypnotherapy is a notable form of psychotherapy which has been developed from the revolutionary work of Dr. Milton Erickson. Accredited Hypnotherapy Course

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state that we all experience during our day-to-day lives. When utilised for therapeutic purposes in addition with certain skills it becomes hypnotherapy which is a scientifically studied and evaluated method for helping people to make changes and improve their lives.

This accredited hypnotherapy training programme has been designed to help you to learn the fundamental aspects of hypnotherapy, coaching and NLP - for specific therapeutic application.

Dedicated Hypnotherapy/NLP & Life Coach Training Course

treatmentroomtrance Our Ericksonian Hypnotherapy diploma course covers a dedicated training programme of tutor led tuition, taking place over ten weekends in Bournemouth, Dorset. (Meaning this is not just an unaccredited distance learning course without the kind of face-to-face tutor led training and support that's vital for you to develop the confidence and competency you need as a practicing hypnotherapist.) This makes it easy for you to attend while also managing your family and career needs. Each in-house training session consists of a consecutive Saturday and Sunday session, each day lasting about 7.5 hours. A number of weeks (usually about 4) are allowed to elapse between each class in order for you to be able to undertake periods of home study and other course work.

Below - in order for you to make an informed choice - you will find some more detailed information relating to the elements included within the training programme - guidelines to which we adhere in order to deliver training to recognised standards.

Purpose of Training

Our training courses are designed specifically to train you to be able to competently go straight into clinical practice as a professional hypnotherapist.

Training Course Content

We ensure that your competencies meet the required standard of both theoretical understanding and practical application.

The Format

The curriculum of the course is divided to cover approximately 50% practical training and 50% theory training which includes:

Fostering Rapport

Understanding the need for rapport and learning a number of ways in which rapport can be established and enhanced is important to you. As you qualify you will become skilled at utilising NLP-based, pacing, leading, matching and mirroring principles.

Developing Effective Communication

We teach an in-depth analysis of Non Verbal Communication (NVC) skills. You will learn to understand and appreciate the distinctions in the art of effective communication. Covering tonality, inflection, pace of delivery and speech pattern styles.

Trance Inductions

We'll demonstrate to you a number of formal ('classical') inductions plus... our permissive Ericksonian techniques. You'll learn how to end a trance—with a number of principles for doing so.

Therapeutic Intervention Techniques

Learn about a wide variety of both direct and indirect therapeutic techniques for use in clinical practice.

Information Gathering

It's vital that trainees understand what the therapist needs to know about his/her client and what the client needs to know about his/her therapy. You will learn how to effectively use case notes and record keeping, along with exploring issues like confidentiality, boundaries, areas of specialism, treatment costs, etc.

How to deal with abreaction

Your training as a clinical practitioner will include understanding what an abreaction is, why it sometimes occurs and how to deal with it.

Revivification/Transderivational Search and related investigatory techniques

On this course we will teach you the art of hypnotic revivification and related investigatory techniques for therapeutic work including content free NLP based methods and non verbal techniques.

Theoretical Training hypnosis2

Your theoretical training with us will include an understanding of the history of hypnosis, NLP and coaching.

Core Skills

You will have ample opportunity to practice all of the Core Skills; which include hypnotherapy, NLP and coaching methods - in the classroom - so that you can receive guidance and support as you develop your practitioner competency.

Contraindications

Certain conditions necessitate special care when considering the use of hypnotherapy - we’ll cover what they are and what options you have.

Written and oral assessment

You'll be invited to complete some written work to demonstrate your understanding of various hypnotherapy and NLP techniques along with oral assessment of your therapeutic language patterns (that takes place as a natural part of your ongoing learning as we observe you working with others).

Demonstration and observation

Throughout the training course you will be able to demonstrate your skills - along with the other students - in a variety of practical exercises. These will be observed by the tutors in order to further help you develop your expanding repertoire of therapeutic tools.

Specialised Units

As previously outlined our training course includes learning interconnected Neuro Linguistic Programming approaches which dovetail neatly into the hypnotherapy skills that you will develop.

Membership

Once qualified you'll be able to apply for membership of The Complementary Medical Association, The Counselling Society, The General Hypnotherapy Register, The Hypnotherapy Association and The Hypnotherapy Society.

Your Ericksonian Hypnotherapy Diploma will be awarded upon successful completion of your classroom training and related Home Study work. You'll also be awarded a Practitioner Certificate in NLP and a Life Coaching Certificate upon completion—due to the level of NLP and Life Coaching training you will receive.

Many experienced people, including highly-trained counsellors, hypnotherapists and trainers choose to learn with us. And we base what we do on results gained in actual practice and our own personal experience.
