Author of two books about hypnosis/NLP.
Over the years my clients and students have numbered many leading professionals including several TV and radio presenters, psychiatrists, doctors, a surgeon, nurses, school teachers, bankers, solicitors, British peerage, a number of notable mediums and healers, counsellors, established NLP-hypnotherapy practitioners and trainers, plus a commercial pilot - as well as many other men, women and children from all walks of life.
I've been been delivering presentations and training programmes since the 1980s, including hypnosis/NLP programmes for the Bournemouth Adult Education Centre, The NLP Learning Company and (of course!) Eos Seminars Ltd. I'm also a trained and qualified life coach, counsellor and meridian therapy (EFT) practitioner.
Some of the most common hypnotherapy requests I receive include those for help to overcome Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Phobias, to Lose Weight and to Quit Smoking. Alcohol addiction, career problems, stress and confidence issues also figure highly and have similarly responded well to professional treatment.

'You know Kerin…I believe that you will create a life of lasting fulfilment for yourself and th ose you care about'. Anthony Robbins.
'I was fortunate enough to have session of Neuro Linguistic Programming with Kerin Webb... in Bournemouth...He showed me that by tapping various points on my body whilst reciting positive affirmations I can alter the flow of Chi (the invisible lifeforce energy) thus changing my thoughts and behaviours. It worked the first time I did it and when I tried to 'test it' by thinking negative thoughts, I just couldn't! It's most bizarre. Anyone wanting a positive uplifting session please contact Kerin via the website.' A.C. Hants. (As published in her newsletter.)

My work as a professional therapist:
I work at a professional hypnotherapist in a dedicated practice located at Bournemouth, in Dorset (England). As well as assisting clients who live within easy travelling distance of my practice I also receive clients from other parts of the UK, usually as a result of a referral. Sometimes I'll travel to see clients who work professionally, for instance, in London, by special arrangement. Over the years my clients and students have included several TV and radio presenters, British peerage, psychiatrists, doctors, a surgeon and many nurses. I've directly trained many professional hypnotherapists who are now themselves working successfully in practice around the UK and abroad. In the context of therapeutic consultations I have years of experience gained helping my clients to stop smoking, lose weight, overcome alcohol addiction, deal with anxiety, panic attacks and phobias; to manage career issues, sort out relationship problems, experience past life regression and more. I've written a couple of books about hypnosis-NLP and recorded a range of CDs and downloads for Ultra Hypnosis Ltd, which are available in the shops and online. My approach is integrative and solution-focussed. Kerin Webb, MA, D.Hyp.

About Hypnotherapy, NLP, Counselling, Coaching, EFT and TFT
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a method for generating wellness (psychological, emotional, and physiological) when a person is in a natural state of relaxation which is known as ‘trance’.
Many people don’t know this fact – but everyone goes into trance many times each day! Trance is that state of mind that occurs when you become absorbed in a good book, movie or train of thought - where you just seem to ‘drift off’ and find your mind wandering into a pleasant daydream-like experience.
Hypnosis (another word for trance) occurs when your brainwave activity switches from beta (fully alert) to alpha (trance) and theta (deeper trance). In fact, just by closing your eyes your brainwaves will begin to slow into the relaxed state of alpha. (Is it surprising that most forms of meditation involve eye closure?) So it’s quite a natural thing for you to close your eyes from time to time and go into trance. You do it every day!
Trance then, is something you do often. Where the experience of trance becomes hypnotherapy is when a trained hypnotherapist is involved in the process who provides your inner self (your unconscious mind) with a range of special suggestions designed to help you in some specific way. Perhaps to become more positive, for instance. When these suggestions accord with your overall aims your unconscious mind can choose to respond to them, in appropriate ways, thereby helping you to achieve your overall ideal.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) was developed by Dr Richard Bandler and Dr John Grinder in the 1970s. So as a form of psychotherapy it’s relatively new – and definitely innovative.
Neuro Linguistic Programming, as it’s name suggests, helps people to make changes in the way that they think (that’s the ‘neuro’ part) and in the way they communicate (that’s the ‘linguistic’ part) so that they can change unwanted behaviours and install desired ones (that’s the ‘programming’ part).
NLP was largely developed from the fields of hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural counselling. So – like hypnotherapy much of its power is generated by working with the unconscious mind. This approach can often ‘side step’, so to speak, the many hours of work that can be required in some of the older forms of psychotherapy.
NLP therapists understand that by helping clients to make small changes in the way they think and behave - this can (sometimes quite rapidly) generate some very positive results.
Counselling
My favoured counselling approach is called Solution Focussed Counselling. This means that, as a generalisation, my focus tends to be on helping my clients to change in the now, so that the present moment and the future can begin to improve.
While knowledge of the past can be helpful, I believe that a preoccupation with it can shift the balance in the wrong direction.
The past has happened. The now is the only moment in which we can exist. And the future is being created by what we do in the now.
In Solution Focussed Counselling then, you learn from the past, while being proactive in the present in order to create a better future. In essence in a Solution Focussed Counselling session you'll have the opportunity to discuss your situation with someone who will listen to you and who will, in the process, explore your options with you and support you along the way.
Life Coaching
Maybe you don't have a problem to overcome or a phobia to remove - but you do want to move your life forward in some positive way? Perhaps your career needs some improvement? Maybe your social life needs improving? Maybe you have some great idea for a business venture and you need to add some 'oomph!' to your motivation to follow through on it in order to make it happen? If this kind of scenario fits your situation - then that's when life coaching can be useful to you. If you want to improve the quality of your life, it's usually a good idea to talk with someone who's already done so in their own life (so you're working from more than just textbook theory!). A good life coach will have already lived the process of applying life coaching principles to his or her own life and will as a result have firsthand knowledge of the process you want to apply to your own.
Thought Field Therapy (TFT)
Thought Field Therapy was developed by Dr. Roger Callahan. This method works on the basis that a person can sometimes encounter psychological and emotional problems because the energy fields ('Thought Fields') which we each emit and which interpenetrate us (think of auras and the 'ki' or 'chi' energy of martial arts) can become, so to speak, disrupted (the 'technical' word used to describe this phenomenon is 'perturbation') and as a result such 'perturbations' can cause various kinds of difficulties in how a person thinks and how they feel. However, when a person is led by a trained practitioner to tap lightly on certain meridian points located on the upper body these psychological and emotional problems can often be released causing the person to rapidly experience psychological and emotional healing.
TFT is a form of 'Meridian Energy Therapy'. In essence it's based on the same kind of principles by which acupuncture (another scientifically proven meridian-based healthcare approach) reflexology and shiatsu are believed function.
The meridian points addressed by TFT are invisible to the eye – but exponents of Chinese medicine have been aware of their existence for thousands of years. The meridian energy which circulates both through and just outside of our bodies is believed to be akin to electro-magnetic energy (some call it ‘magneto-electric’) which, according to the ancients (as mentioned above) and in line with modern research it seems can become 'disrupted' in various ways.
So, whereas an acupuncturist use s fine needles to help treat problems a TFT practitioner will instead simply guide you to tap on certain of these meridian points located on your own body, in order to facilitate the clearing of the existing problem disruption in your 'thought field' (so that the electro-magnetic energy can begin to function properly again).
The indications are that many psychological and emotional problems have a ‘disrupted energy’ component to them. The field of Thought Field Therapy has built up an impressive body of evidence over 25 years regarding its efficacy, and it is now used widely to treat trauma victims - along with helping people to overcome addictions, phobias and various fears and anxieties. (To read more about this and to learn about some of the scientific research that has taken place you can read 'Tapping The Healer Within', written by Dr Roger Callahan.)
Emotional Freedom Technique / EFT: A student of Dr Callahan, by the name of Gary Craig worked with Dr Callahan to develop a refined method that could be applied in 'emergency situations' which has since become known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). This method utilises a principle called the 'Basic Recipe' which - basically - involves tapping on a specific set of meridian points for all presenting problems.
Neuro Affective Desensitisation Technique: After having utilised Meridian Therapy successfully for many years, discovering in the process that excellent results could often be obtained when this approach is utilised in conjunction with NLP and Hypnosis I developed a hybrid method which I have called the Neuro Affective Desensitisation Technique. It has proven on many occasions to be effective in treating a wide range of presenting problems and I now regularly incorporate this special method into my treatment sessions in order to help my clients make the changes they want. We also provide training workshops in this method to suitably qualified therapists. If you would like to know how you could gain a certificate in the Neuro Affective Desensitisation Technique email us for more details.
I'm qualified in both TFT (Thought Field Therapy) and EFT (The Emotional Freedom Technique).
